Mitchell Area Safehouse announces the hiring of Nancy Wietgrefe as its new Executive Director.
Wietgrefe, a native of Mitchell, SD, and will oversee operations, grant management, and staffing as well as community relations for the Mitchell Area Safehouse. She is a South Dakota State University graduate with a degree in Business Economics and has had 17 years of non-profit management experience in Spearfish, SD and Colorado.

Prior to the Safehouse, Wietgrefe has been the Executive Director for Black Hills State University RSVP, and Assistant Director for the Wright Stuff Community Foundation and Prime Time Youth Care in Colorado. Wietgrefe was on the Big Friend Little Friend Board and has been involved in previous United Way campaigns. Nancy moved back to Mitchell in December of 2017 with her husband, Kent and her dog, Dixie. Her two adult children live at Travis Air Force Base in California and in Aberdeen, SD.
